Stephanie A. Seibert is an artist calling Midland home since she was 2 months old. Steph’s love is working with acrylic paint on canvas, although she’s not afraid to experiment and combine many different mediums. Photography is her other love, often combining the two. She definitely overlooks any rules when it comes to making art. Her styles and techniques are not limited to one for she strives to conquer them all as well as create new ones. Steph’s art is inspired by any and all things with portraits being her favorite because “people themselves are a great inspiration”.
Her current show is called ‘The Paper Men’. It features nine pieces of artwork, all faces that grace our nation’s currency from the 1 dollar bill to the 1000 dollar bill. “These faces are our history and we pass them around everyday on our dollars, yet rarely stop to appreciate the beauty and art of them” she explains. Her main goal with this show was to create an artistic representation of something we see and use everyday, to spark an interest in the history and background of the men who represent our nation. The show consists of many different styles and mediums, most of which she used for the first time in this show. “It’s been a learning experience using watercolor, charcoal, and mixed media on paper and I’m very pleased with the final outcome” she says “I hope everyone enjoys the show”.
